Reading The Signs II
Khulood was Happy
Her Honey moon was everything she ever imagined it to be
Salim was always gentle with her, treating her like she was almost fragile
When they got back Salim got busy with his Hospital shifts and Khulood tried adjusting to her new found loneliness.
She Kept asking Salim to introduce her to his friends but they never got around to it
and when she asked if she could tag along on of his outings between his shifts he claimed he only went to the bar across the street and she wouldn't like it.
When she found lipstick on his clothes he mumbled excuses which she gobbled up happily.
Khulood found out if she tells herself shes happy enough times she begins to believe her own lies as eagerly as she believes her husbands.
Pretty soon the sex stopped
when Khulood complained to her sister she told her its normal, hes tired stressed blah blah blah.
Salim was very private, a little too private.
When Khulood found tickets to a strip club he claimed they were for his friend
when she found credit card receipts for Queer, other inappropriate stores she told herself Soho is close to work.
Then one day kholoods curiosity took over her and while her husband was talking on the fone, she picked up the other extension and listened.
he was having phone sex with another man
her curiosity definitely killed the cat.

Q: If he was gay, then why did he marry her?

A2: He wanted to appease his family.
A3: He wanted to appease Allah.

What was his motivation?
Why is he so one-dimensional? He has married a friend from childhood, and been running out on her. Of course he must feel guilty. If not because he loves her as a husband, then because he loves her as a friend. He could be at least as miserable as her? Is he trying to establish a relationship with another man, or just cottaging?
I want a chapter three.
What did he say when she confronted him?
She was hurt, but perhaps for some reason his deception was understandable? Should she tell her family why she is leaving him? If she does, then he may be shamed. If she does not, then she will be blamed for leaving him. If she lies, and says it was because he was with another woman, both families will intervene and try and get him to behave and her to forgive.

So like now that she is divorced, if Mohammed were to want to marry her, could she marry him, or does Dad still have to approve/disapprove? Does being divorced change anything?
What was the lipstick all about?
i don't know if that is a happy or sad ending. it does appear that there are many unanswered questions that needs to be addressed for this story to be complete. any possibility of a part 3?? ;)
nevertheless, very riveting. kinda like an episode of prison break. watch one and you cant wait for the next. :)
