Life Defining Moments

Changing schools 1997
I was scared and miserable, turned out to be the best move I ever made

My uncle passing away 2000

Cancer at 32. Changed everything about everyone, the great depression, my aunts wore black for 3 years after his death, it definitely changed my outlook on life.

Graduating High school 2003

Breaking away from the security and familiarity of everything and everyone I had grown up with, i felt limitless!

My parents divorce 2006

Its not so much the divorce, but dealing with the aftermath.

There are a lot of significant moments in my life. moving away from home, dealing with certain situations, meeting certain people, but these four moments had more impact on me and who i am today than any others.

What are the moments that defined your life?

That's a good question.

I think the most important moment when my dad enforced me to study in England using his special power when I wanted to study in Kuwait. Now I'm glad he did.

I love how with all what goes on in your life, you still managed to DO WELL in your education and also carry good traits; great personality and charisma :)

Yet to discover. I do not need a moment to define my life as i can pretty much think of lots of critical moments that somehow had an impact on my life but failed miserably to define it.

I like the picture though :)

January 29, 2008 at 5:30 AM

Its a two way street.. but memories define us as we define ourselves coming out of them.. they make us stronger.. then make us who we are..
proud of you girlie for the strength that you brought out of these events good and bad...

January 29, 2008 at 5:50 AM

hmm let's see:

2000: going to KU
2001: going abroad
2003: changing schools
2005: moving back
2007: quitting my job

I think severe changes in my surroundings have been the defining moments in my life. I'm glad that, for better or for worse, my defining moments have all been choices I've made myself.

u always are so provocative and inspiring... when i think of my life defining moments.. other than 1990 (very very defining moment in my life because of the invasion, and the loss of my father), the other year that stands out making all other life defining moments minimal is 2000... notice i didnt even put my marriage year, not that its not a big big thing.. just 2000 was Titanic in its turbulance..

January 31, 2008 at 12:18 PM

I can finally post a comment :D I was reading you sis but couldn’t comment because of java problems :S

I'm sorry about your parents and about your uncles death may he rest in peace.

I had many life defining moments

1998 I had a culture shock after living 8 years in the UK and that we are not going to live there again.

1999 my uncle dying from cancer.

2003 graduating high school.

2007 graduating and feeling that I don’t have anything to do. After that having a job and not loving it. My first salary.

I bet there are more and that I can't remember them at this moment.

January 31, 2008 at 2:20 PM
