One Bad Apple

Theres this guy that used to go to my university who is running for parliament. We laughed like theres no tomorrow when we first heard. First because the guy barely has two brain cells, and he has no conscience. With a little power in his hands he will be the epitome of corruption.
I am certain.

Everyone that knew him here had the same reaction. Laughter then shock.

So I'm wondering. Am I supposed to take a stand against him?

If there was someone I knew personally that was voting for him I wouldn't hesitate for a second to voice my opinion, but do I go public ?

Flan elFlani is a rat?
Even if his acts were non political?

A persons everyday actions reflect their character.
I really don't want a person like him representing ANYONE in parliament!

People please make sure you vote for the right person!
This ain't no game!

I was having a debate with some members of the family, who want to vote for a women, who maybe deserve their votes. But has ABSOLUTELY no chance of winning. And I am trying to explain that they will be wasting their vote and giving the people that we do not want winning a realistic chance of winning!

In which district is the guy running?

I suggest that you ignore & don't vote for him.

and in case he wins, you can go and brag that you know the guy

remmeber to always keep the connections. You never know how absurd life can get. :P

If he has no conscious and no brain, people should take notice. If the people are that bad to choose someone like this guy, then my worries will extend to go beyond whether this guy will reach the parliament or not. I wouldn’t go public and say flan elflani is not the right person to vote for, because it won’t make any difference. Even if you convince them they will go and vote for someone who is no better than him!

April 3, 2008 at 1:52 AM

Well as long he isn't from a powerful tribe or family then you can rest assured that he's not gonna win but mostly likely gonna create a distortion among the voters.

I shall vote for the right candidates because I'm sick of the current jackasses ruling the parliament. Let's also hope the Kuwaiti women have a stronger presence this time around.

Well since 4 years back I dont know how many times they changed the parliament, I never voted, and I think I will never. I have 3 people now who are going for it, and they are my cousins not close ones and still not that far. One of them is a woman and 2 guys, for me I like to wait and see because I know even if all three wins they cant do all the things that their people want. Because there is the stupid parliament voting which they need at least above 50% of them to agree which is a little bit hard because of the stupid A$$ mentality they have here. But I would like one thing our new parliament to start with is removing the damn segregation issue thing because it looks stupid.

April 3, 2008 at 7:20 AM

now we're all curious! :p

April 3, 2008 at 7:28 AM

with whats going on now...i doubt we will have enough good candidates in parliament ..

April 3, 2008 at 7:31 AM

I honestly think that people at the level you described will almost always get revealed. Today, there are so many of these types of people runnin around Kuwait playin politcs. They're best descrived as "Khayshat Fa7am". In ta7 3laik, wasakhak ow in ti7t 3alay ham tiwaskht. Wil Khayshaat aktharow bi deera...

Anyway, wait on it and see how it plays out. Kuwaitis have become used to their own corrupt candidates, the last thing we need is a newcommer.

April 3, 2008 at 9:23 AM

I suggest that you should speak out when he is mentioned...

You might not completely change everyone's mind about voting for him...

but at least you'll make people think about it carefully...

and that's precisely what we need...we need to think before we vote...Allah y7afth ilKuwait!

April 3, 2008 at 10:42 AM

criteria for voting...
who's gonna pay me more... *evil laugh*
just kidding... I don't know who I'm gonna vote for... I don't know if I'm even registered....
But anywho.. its a dilemma between Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at the moment... ;PpP

April 3, 2008 at 10:50 AM

I dont know anything about whats going on with the elections in Kuwait but i definitely think you should vote for the suitable candidate

April 3, 2008 at 12:29 PM

So how do you know a politician is lying????

When his lips move

C'est La Vie ;-)

April 3, 2008 at 12:29 PM

shay yaqher ..
but with the new system .
dont worry mo ay a7ad yigdar yi6l3 ..

April 3, 2008 at 1:01 PM

You are right, I wont deny it. But I hate the darn politics here in kuwait which everyone says we will do and then they dont. So thats why i never voted before but this time I might.
I will go for Shaikha Al-Ghanim And Fahad and the 2 free votes i have will depend. On who is really serious what the future of the country need. Because we need a better Economy in this country.

April 3, 2008 at 3:48 PM

theres a difference if you dont want him to be there because of some personal thing between you and him, or if he really is incompetent in general!

you can always voice your opinion, although you shouldnt voice your 3agra

anyway, its a democracy, if more people think he's suitable than the number of people who think he isnt, he will get voted in.

April 3, 2008 at 3:51 PM

If he would not be qualified as an MP, you should go public!

April 3, 2008 at 5:11 PM

ee walla one bad apple, bas almoshkela when this bad apple etkhareeb ely ma3ahah! very sad :/

April 3, 2008 at 10:22 PM

The thing is he is probably scum so it doesn't matter if you say something bad about him, you just have to discourage those you know about him...

its sad that an idiot can run for parliament in Kuwait and they have the ability to win..

he is probably somebody's puppet..

April 4, 2008 at 2:32 PM

Strongly I advice you to do so,
start here say his name so I don't vote for the rat ;p

April 4, 2008 at 8:12 PM

it is BECAUSE he has no conscience that he is running for parliament.

Voice your opinion, nothing is wrong with that. This is what VOTING is about!

April 5, 2008 at 3:31 PM

when someone asks you about him SAY THE TRUTH. If you know something others dont, then say it.
I know I did about a few people (men and women) who are running..
