To The Ungrateful Citizens Of My Beloved Kuwait

An ungrateful person and myself were having a conversation about salary increases in the GCC.

Ungrateful person: we should move to qa6ar or UAE to make more money

eshda3wa: I might consider working somewhere other than Kuwait for a while, for the experience, but I know ill always end up in Kuwait. Its home, always will be.

Ungrateful person: yeah LILASAF

LILASAF? Al7een elkuwait 9arat lilasaf!

Ma ta7mdoon rabkom 3al ne3ma ele 3aysheen feha!
You don't see how spoiled we are!
Everything is handed to us on a silver platter.
Man we don't have to pay for anything except the food on our table and clothes on our back!
The rest is FREE

How can someone even think that let alone say it!

Whats it gonna take to remind people of how easy we have it!
Another invasion?

Sure we complain about certain things, but that comes out of love for this land!
The government takes care of us from cradle to the grave!

Moo 3ajbatkom elkuwait?!
Bele may7afethkum
We wont miss you.

Ma 9ar fee haiba wala 7asheema 7ag eldeera

Fee nass ma yatres 3ainhum ela eltrab!

Lil asaf inta kuwaity!

    Although I agree with you on the principal I differ with you on some aspects. Yes we are we lucky, actually very lucky, however there are many SHAMEFUL, yes shameful thins in this country. Racism and inequalities are among them, especially in regards to the free services! Ant if you I had to choose between;

1- free service with bad quality
    2-Taxes with good quality

then Ill choose number two. The government is not thinking forward. We have absolutely NO plans for the future!? The government is just wasting the money, not improving services, not improving infrastructure and most importantly NOT doing its job! People are waiting for house, and keep on waiting! I think 7di 6la3t bra belmawtho3, but in my defence I have an exam tomorrow and can not concentrate!

A common misconception the masses have is that whenever Allaah sends them that which comforts them, it is always a reward. Rather, Allaah tests us through our wealth, children, power, and other worldly enjoyments.

These things can and may very well be a source of fitnah, so watch out, beware of being blinded by patriotism (which has no place in this wonderful Deen of ours) and ask Allaah to keep you 'alaa as-Siraat al-Mustaqeem always.

Some of these people are never satisfied and want everything handed to them, and they everything, and everything the other person has. These people are non productive, i want to fire 50% of all people in the government because they aren't helping improve services, and the ones working hard are stepped on the most. Its very sad, and frustrating!

    Alah esa3id il ikwait!

Its a pity that there is someone who thinks of Kuwait this way making it the ultimate reason of his soon to be miserable life. The kind of people who thinks everything should be handed to us on a silver plate is just too greedy to be qualified to live in a lovely country such as ours. i feel sorry for him/her. If the discussion was about improving Kuwait yes there are many things that needs to be improved, but Kuwait as it is now is just heaven among others.

If you could point to where I claimed patriotism would lead one to hell, I would indeed be surprised. But you will not be able to. Actually, patriotism, like 'asabiyyah, is a sentiment that belongs only in the Jaahiliyyah, and has no place within Islaam. It is the sentiment of the ignorant and foolish, and not of those who have been touched by the light of al-Islaam.

The Muslim only loves (and hates) for the sake of Allaah, and this applies to people and even countries. An-Nabi sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa-sallam said about nationalism and patriotism:

"Leave it. It is Rotten " [Bukhaari & Muslim] and:

"He is not one us who calls for `Asabiyah, (nationalism/tribalism) or who fights for `Asabiyah or who dies for `Asabiyah." He, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa-sallam also said:

" ...People should give up their pride in nations because this is a coal from the coals of hell-fire. If they do not give this up Allaah will consider them lower than a lowly worm which pushes itself through khur (feces)." [Abu Daawood and Tirmidhee].

    Wa Qaala Allaah, Al-Haqq:

And among His Signs is the creation of the heavens and the earth, and the difference of your languages and colours. Verily, in that are indeed signs for men of sound knowledge. (Ar-Rum 30:22)

Let me know if you want more.

Patriotism is jahl. It won't benefit you in this dunya nor will it benefit you in the Aakhira. Give it up.

    I'm 2nd Hasan B.

Also, you wouldn't necessarily be better off in either Dubai and Qatar (with inflation/cost of living/social craziness...etc)

Even I, who suffers from acute "where-the-hell-is-home" syndrome...(common with 3rd-culture-kids) know better than to bash Kuwait.

Trust me, we still have it easy in a lot of ways. (Flickr, vimeo...all blocked in the UAE to preserve morality..:/)

i know exactly what you mean....and tadreen shino? for me, all it takes is going on a vacation for as little as 4-5days to realize that i am blessed to be here. but the thing is, we should always strive for more, always try to make it better. the problem isnt the fact that people want bigger salaries, because lets face it, with the way prices are rocketing, some people can barely make a living. the problem though is that people want a bigger salary PERIOD. no strings attached. and thats just not the way its supposed to be...
