Gossip Girl
a friend and i were talking about gossip girl and what if something like that existed in Kuwait.
We sure love to gossip, but were very sensitive about public gossip.
even on TV series they would never use family names. its just not done
ya3ni if i know something and i tell a group of friends who go around and tell it to another group and in three hours everyone in Kuwait is talking about it
its very different than me posting it online
why do u think that is?

i think bel q8 el gossip shaghaal . good or bad:P
i think the idea of gossip girl is ver very bad to have it in kuwait, kafi kalam innas wil balbala malat-hum
i think gossip girl was inspired by the kuwaity society =\
i think in blogs it spreads more
i don't watch gossip girl, they annoy me.
i guess its cuz not only is leq8 literally 9ghera, but also everyone is liked to each other somehow, so we're more reluctant in knowingly spreading juicy news about them.
Too bad the Kuwaiti community like's to make a big deal about other people.
I dont know how to put it, simply in Arabic "yaboon yefashloon hom"
Aww pity that "hero" in the gossip. If you post it here, by midnight all the middle east will know about that gossip, LOL XD
iad accident... only one person knew me, then my whole c-workers knew i got phone calls yesterday from them saying salamat...
everyone knows me if i don't go to work, then i'm extremely tired, cause i work even if i'm sick
have u ever seen a movie called Gossip?? its freaky man
I think that its all about how you perceive it.
Its a small country. Gossip spreads like germs regardless.
That being said, Gossip girl is a mess. I could not watch it. "too cheesy" is what i thought. Although two thumbs up for there fashion sense.
I dont know, maybe its the age gap, when your over 20.
i came up with a stupid analogy:
too many things in a small space = too much friction
too many things in a big space = much less friction
get it?
As you said, talking is different then posting, and we are a very reputation sensitive society. I would assume a lot of people would get very mad very quickly and it would result in physical violence of one sort or another.
You don't know people's reactions here and secondly that isn't really our type of culture. People have a hard enough time living a normal life without having a microscope on them and being judged all the time. For the states they love that sort of infamy but in Kuwait it can destroy lives.
Thats my take on it!
mmm im not sure about Kuwait, but if such a thing is too happen here in Dubai im sure the website will be shut down because a similar incident happened in flickr a few years back and the account got shut down in a matter of hours.
I think because we live in a totally different society compared to the US, it seems like everything is 'ok' as long as its behing closed doors 3ala goolat my friend;p plus were all raised differently, and have parents that are strict in different ways. For example, if im to be on Gossip Girl seen in a mall at 10pm ill probably be grounded for life by my parents, whilst thats fine and normal with other parents.
madri, i think because were all so mmm diverse + freedom of speech doesnt exist in this part of the world , so it wont work out
Lena I7na n7ib insawi kilshay sakati o min ta7at lay ta7at mo 3alani. We like to appear like we r good and God fearing ppl.....u can call it keeping up appearances, I call it denial ! Hehe !
mo gader afham shno elso2al exactly. inshalah mo ana bas eli mo fahim otherwise atfashal hehe
lol.. 3ad mara qelt laish mako blog nafs gossip girl ;p
it would be funny! a7s mn bacher blocked by quality net mn majlis al 2umma! (hayef al 6ab6ba2ii)
oo i know someone who like 2 gossip wayd!! oo says, "its not personal, its just gossip"
el kuwait 9gheerah!!!!!
wel 7ash emashe 7ala o zyada bdon amthal el gossip girl!
but if some girl decides to do it.. and have a blog dedicated to gossiping o 7ash o garth eb nas o asamy 9ejeyah... fa ham el kuwait 9gherah o akhrat'ha bten3aref o ten6ag!!!!
9ij i agree with both anaymous and on the rocks.. i think we don't need yet another source for gossiping.. 3ala goaltich il 7achy yintishir min ghair shay!!
hmm ..
maybe it's different online cuz no one reads blogs that much .. plus mouth to mouth gossip is faster and easier
e7na mo nag9een gossip ;p
u know, what happening in q8 is really sad
coz ppl are like craving the secrets and the juicy details about others
they even go waaaaay too far with adding spice 2 the "true" story
and u know , Kuwait is REALLY small country
and everybody knows everybody else
so 2 be in safe side , I never mention names in gossiping , bc u never know if what u heard is right wala it never even happened a9lan
r u trying to spark up sumthing?;p
BONJOUR SISTAAAAAAA
;)
News *Gossip* travel FAST... BAD news *gossip* travel faster and may result in disastrous results in Kuwait LOL
Well if you tell one friend then it can only be linked back to you by that one friend. If you post it online then everyone who gets the information can link it back to you. There's a huge element of cowardice attached to self-censorship. But I think cowardice serves society well in this case - I personally would hate to see blog become a medium for spreading nastiness and negativity under an alias.
No need for a blog...
Just mouths and ears... :P
It wouldn't last. They'll link the website to a person, and that person biroo7/bitroo7 feeha!
Plus, in Kuwait if something happened to you (reputation wise) it's very hard for you to redeem yourself, ya3ni khalas it'll stick to you but in GG they keep on repeating how it'll die out in a matter of days, but would it in Kuwait?
Hatha el addiction ile feekom ile malah 7al ;p
wow you seem like a lovely person, spreading all that gossip among your friends :)
