To Fail Miserably
My Friend F is working with a few people running for the KDA (Kuwait Dental Association.)
A couple of days ago she held a gathering at her place in which a Dr was going to speak.
All week long soos and I helped her plan the whole thing.
She did a fantastic job!
I loved the set up. F. went to a lot of trouble.
Everything was perfect. Except for the fact no one showed up.
Less than 10 people were there in total.
We invited over 100 people. 75 of them told us they were coming for sure.
The first time we invited them they told us they'll be there. And when we double checked two days before the actual event, they told us they'll show up.
Then suddenly on the day of the event. Poof! everyone got food poisoning, had a meeting to go to. Lost their fones.
It was so damn RUDE. My god seriously what is wrong with people!
Ya3ni if they had told us from the beginning they cant show up then they would have at least spared F the time and trouble!
When will people learn!

.... most people in healthcare don't care about this kind of thing (KMA/KDA) ..... which is why most people in healthcare have inadequate representation ....... if they only tried to build a sense of community then maybe when the MOH decides to assign arbitrary numbers for over time someone might stand up for them .... till then we'll just have to put up with the crap we have shoved down our throats all day everyday ....

il9ara7a thayagty 5ilgy..ilmushkila inna this happens a lot. 3ala gooltich why don't they say that they're not comming in the first place, its a lot less 3aib than not showing up..
but I guess you learned from that incident a valuable lesson you and your friends shouldn't forget.

U shoulda told me, i would've made sure that, first, the house is full of guests, yeah crazy ones but atleast they are fun to watch hehe, second wipe off the plates, bas we are not dentists, just a bunch of hungry guys hehe, ohh and screw them people who didn't show up.

I do not know the invitees, i do not know the speaker, so i cannot judge. Maybe the crowd invited did not mix well with the speaker?
I am also guessing the house gathering was a little intimidating for them, i for one would not go for a persons house to listen to another person speaking about elections...
Meaning that i would rather go listen if it was in the main building of KDA rather than inside a house.
But i would tell u so. I would say im sorry i cannot make it. I would not tell u ok then ignore u. If it was a reception or a wedding i would not have strung u up would i?
Walla il concept of cards o RSVP should be initiated in Q8...

Yeah that sucks, especially when you put lots of time and effort to it o you get startled with the feedback !
when planning events in Kuwait i've learned that 25% of people who say they're definitely going to show up actually show up.
So 75 people said they're coming 25% of that is about 18 people. you should of set up for 18.
You learned a lesson.

That's a shame! Shamful enough because it's attached to us being Arabs!!! I can totally relate to that! I was giving a training where 40 people confirmed coming, 6only showed up!
