Monuments

a few weeks ago, my younger brother, who is not so young anymore, went to dubai, n he asked me what do you want me to get you from there? and i thought to myself a landmark or monument would be nice to add to my collection. But whats dubai's landmark??

Kuwait its the towers, paris the eiffel, italy pisa, egypt the pyramids, and so on... bs whats dubai's??

nearly everyone i asked said Burj al3arab, but thats a HOTEL, i dont go to london and buy a tiny churchil!

so im asking u, whats dubais landmark/momument other than burj al3arab ?!

You have a good point there. I remember going to Qatar and asking mom's Qatari freind what to take back home to Kuwait as something specifically Qatari. For example the Omanis have 7alwa 3mania and the Bahrainis have 7alwa shwai6er, we have rahash. But if I remember correctly she couldnt think of anything. I assume it would be the same with the UAE. But they have so many creative small stuff that would be awesome. Even if you dont get something specific to the UAE your brother can probably find you some really funky stuff.

I don't think there is anything other than burj el3arab!!
but the UAE is progressing so they may build something that will be as a monnument in the future :)

Burj Al Arab is just reflecting on Dubai as a city, but when you want to compare Kuwait, Oman, and Bahrain, use the UAE. As for a souvenir, we have the old forts, the daggers, and for females..you can get the local style 3abayas or clothes :) Same thing goes for the guys

basically its the projects in dubai that makes it so special

the palms...but burj al arab is meant to be a monument that makes extra profit ;-p

BA makes monthly profits the exceeds the budgest of kuwait towers...that should tell you something ;-p

well technically, from an architectural point of view, the typical landmark is either a structure/sculpture standing alone, or an office building, or a hotel.
Burj al 3arab is dubai's most recognized landmark not only in UAE but internationally as well. And hey they wanted that so who are we to tell them anything:p
