The Silent Treatment
So i have been working at the new place for a week now.
I use the word new sparingly. The clinic is over 10 years old, but compared to the clinic i was working in before its heaven!
Apart from being nervous about starting at a new place, i was really looking forward for a change of pace, but i got really disappointed as soon as i met the consultant.
She apparently has nothing to say to me AT ALL.
I walk in and i say goodmoring and she nods. Thats it, not a smile or even a grunt, just a nod!
Then she ignores me for the rest of the day until its time to leave.
She stands up, gathers her things and says ok dectorah and walks out.
Except for the first day, when she went out of her way to make me feel welcome by telling me
" dont expect to do anything in my clinic. I work at a very fast pace and I dont have time to slow down and teach you"
Then she turns around and ignores me for the rest of the day.
I am BORED.
Bored of just watching her.
Bored of waiting for the hours to go by so i can leave.
Im bored of being bored.
As you can see we have warmed up to each other a lot.
I can see an ever lasting friendship in our future.

Maybe she is just shy when it comes to meeting new people :P
Ask her old colleagues and see what they say and what is the best way to approach her and what are her favorite subjects! Who know? Maybe you will get her undivided attention one day!

poo on her and humans ,,,,, Im a fan of man (and woman) but people shouldn't be this arrogant ...... she's a consultant (or attending) so she should at least have an obligation to teach.
and as stone cold steve said ........ that's the bottom line .....

I guess either she wants to make you feel like you have to spend some effort at your beginning or she is a devil!!

I understand her no3an ma. She doesnt want to be stuck with a newbie to teach when she should be treating patients. But y3ni ish3elaqat hatha bel sowalif o il kalam?

etha 3la il silent treatment mo moshkila tra... i spent about a month cooped up in my office where the girls refused to talk to me o i would hear their sowalif through the walls... they just didnt feel comfortable with a new comer. Now they are all my best friends, literally. lakin i buried my 8 hour sentence in work!!!! inama la work wala talk? shetsaween y3ni 3yal?

Don't worry about being bored anymore! I won't brush my teeth from now until I walk into your clinic this christmas, and I will make a request that ONLY YOU can work on me. I'l start smoking and having candy before bed to extend the amount of hours you work on me :*

Thats not really a way a company should work!!! What is she thinking, how can you get the people on board if you don't communicate and get everyone on board! Improving the work environment helps improves the patients experience!
