Me and elevators
I'm not afraid of elevators
there i was going to visit my cousin who lives on the 17th floor
Staring at myself in the full length mirror inside the elevator when suddenly it stops!
its pitch black, i cant see a thing
Calmly i switch on my fone to get some light, i find the alarm bell, and intercom, buzz
a mans voice: yes?
I'm stuck
well get to it right away ma'am
Right away wasn't that fast, as a i stood in the dark bored as hell, every movie every story of falling elevators came to mind.
oh my god I'm gna die
I kept telling myself to stay calm

30..
I'm still in the dark
Time dragged on
a while later
the lights switched back on
and i heard my cousins husband saying

Don't panic there fixing it. itll be ok

Cousins husband: they fixed it , its all good
the elevator starts descending..
IM ALIVE!!
I get out, get into the one next to it, and go up to the 17th floor
i walk into my cousins apartment, take one look at her, and i burst into tears
brave little solder i am :)
10 things that annoy me about elevators
1- people who smoke
2- When the elevator is extremly corwded but people still insist on comming in
3- people who smell
4- people who "releive" air from their body
5- people that stare at you the whole time
6- people that keep on pressing the button.. tap tap tap tap, its not gna make it go faster so STOP
7- When elevators stop
8- when idiotic men tell you to jump when your scared out of your mind
9- when elevators have to stop on every floor
10- people who huff and puff down your neck just standing too close!

My God! You poor little thing! I had this happen to me several times... the worst was when I was in a tiny elevator and air started to run out :S

I agree on all the points except 6 hehe I'm so impatient that i do that sometimes, I know it won't go faster but it's like when u press on the gas or when u poke someone next to u to walk faster, u poke the button here haha.

I'm ok with elevators, but I've got this subconscious fear of me being stuck on it or of it falling. I remember last summer my sister and I went in to the elevator, she pressed to the floor we were going to and we stood there I looked at her and told her "ma t7seen ino al elevator ma t7arak?" now that was 7imat al'3aba2 the door was closed and the damn thing did not move.

I hate it when people press the button that closes the door a hundred times, or the floors number a million times. I agree with you on the ten points but ra7 azeed two more
- when you stop at a certain floor and people stare at you and do not enter the elevator

i don't think i am claustrophobic but the thought of getting stuck in an elevator really freaks me out. seriously! :(

honestly, i say a little prayer in my own way when i step into an elevator.
as for people who smoke in elevators, we're fortunate here cos it's against the law. but till some years ago, we had another problem - people who pee'd in elevators!! geez...
how did we get around the problem? pee sensors were fitted in elevators and if someone pee'd, the elevator would trap the offender till the rescue team / police come. ;)

I get scared in those panoramic-type elevators. Especially when you combine that with my fear of heights. I remember the first time I went up the Emirates Tower in Dubai. I was hyperventilating when we reached the 46th floor *gasp*

I can't beleive you went through that. But what's even harder to beleive is that you got on an elevator RIGHT after that and went up to your cousin's place. You're one brave soul! Plus it's good that you did that because sometimes after these situations people develop a phobia. I hate how you feel your personal space is invaded in an elevator, it's so uncomfortable.

yep, apparently singaporeans have really small bladders. :/
One of my experiences with elevators was the elevator incident that happened to me in the Eiffel tower, in France. I was on the highest level, which is the 3rd level of the tower, it was near midnight. After i was done enjoying the view from up there i decided to go back down and leave the tower, but i heard some people shouting and arguing, all the elevators stopped working and we were stuck up there. I had to stand on my feet for more than an hour with a huge crowd, waiting for the elevators to work. They did, but one of them used to work, and the other stops, then the other one works and the one that we've been standing in line for for more than 30 mins stops working again. Finally I managed to get on one of the elevators, it took more than an hour due to the huge number of people waiting in line for the elevator, and the weight limits for the elevators. But it didn't end there, the elevator that i was in with other people stopped before it reached the 2nd level in mid air, and we were stuck in an elevator at one of the highest points of France, you could see everything below you, and everything was small. Some people panicked inside the elevator, we had to wait, and wait till it started working again and moving very slowly, and we finally reached the ground, some people kissed the ground when they got off the elevator. But to be honest with you, i enjoyed it.
