on a more serious note i think this is good cuz it is said ( well in my sociology class said it :P ) ina the prison enviroment promotes violent behavior so we're not really helping ppl by throwing them in jail we're just delaying them from the next time they do it again. It would be interesting to see if this prision would have a different effect on ppl.

this is a minnuim security prison...such places are called correctional facilities in order to help the inmates restart and organize their life...they can even go to university....they get therapy to help them become better ppl....I so for such places depending on the crime of course!!
but i have to say this place is taking to whole different level...it almost encourages ppl to commit crimes!!

Is it just me or does this defy the purpose of a jail? Isn't imprisonment supposed to be a deterrant? OK if I'm some guy living in an apartment full of cockroaches and I can't pay the rent to my landlord, what should I do? Hmmmmm.
That money could have been spent in far better ways. Maybe it's an asylum and not a jail. A place to keep the criminally insane as they call them?

I don't think it's for criminals rather than a rehabilitation facilty for corrupted people in terms of stealing, blackmaling, bribing ... etc
I believe its a good idea because I think you start at lower levels not having access to all those luxurious entertainment areas. The more you improve ur behavior and the better person you become, the more you'll have access to the other luxurious facilities.
This is an institutional resort rather than a prison.

On one hand, this one doesn't drive prisoners insane, ooo ma yet3aqedoon so by the time they leave they don't turn into psychos and commit more crimes.
On the other hand, this looks like just the place someone who couldn't find a home or job would wanna be!
Bas u know what, a jail is a jail, no matte how comfortable it is. You still don't have freedom, u'r surrounded by criminals, and u'r far away from ur loved ones. So unless that person has NOWHERE to go, and noone to go to, he wouldn't wanna go back to it.

u should check out OZ(TV), its a high facility prison.. ofcourse this is waaaaaay better and the modern touch is a plus..

Prisons are made to make you regret, not enjoy, this project fails to meet it's purpose, but succeeds in meeting beauty. It's environment might not promote violence, but encourages criminals to commit crime knowing they won't be sent into a place they would hate, covering a problem only to rise up another isn't smart from Austria's side.
My next crime shall be in Austria for sure! I dont know what criminals go into that prison but its nicer then most hospitals across the globe! It would probably win the prize for best looking prison!

It's an interesting point that it's nicer than some of our offices, campuses and homes.
Austrians care enough about space to offer this to their criminals... we don't care enough about ourselves to build this kind of space...
