but a Dental SPA!!
i mean come on!!
what are they gna have us do next?
learn to tap dance so we entertain the patients!!

there are two things i have to do before going to a dental spa:
1. see a dentist
2. go to a spa.

I totally blame the people for what the world is happening. If they weren't just ONLY looking for money but look for what is good for the SICK POOR PATIENT they wouldn't come up with this bullshit.
But then again this spa would have its own customers. Those high end ones we all know about.
the idea is not bad.
But it should involve activities that are dental-related. Like Mouth & teeth Massages ( i have no idea if this is feasible or how will it be done)

How can u have a facial, and fix your teeth in the same time? Crazy!
I am the kind of person who cries like a baby if I go to the dentist. I am sooo scared of every instrument and metal things, and the drill and...AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I cant go on.
No seriousely when I went to get my wisdom tooth pulled I honestly cried and I was 24! Yeah no kiddin.

Spa treatments shud be done in a spa, not in a place where real skill and talent is needed. With all the hard work u go through, and studying, you shud be the only one getin the credit!!! Not someone who rubs feet!!! Keep up the good work habibty! :)

I don’t know eshda3wa I kinda disagree here. I think that the idea of going to see a dentist brings out a phobia in so many people that trying to fight that feeling by introducing side services is just the kind of thing that might make going to the dentist a little less scary. And there’s no way the dentist will be washing feet. I personally wouldn’t want a dentist’s hands in my mouth if he/she had their hands scrubbing someone’s feet before! Plus for each service you need a specialist. If someone is going to give you a facial they also need to have done their homework before applying funky looking paste on your face so I wouldn’t want a dentist doing that either.
But hey you should think about it when you open your own place inshalla. People who perform the side services stuff get paid much less than dentists and rightly so. You’d have a competitive edge in that you’re offering something rare plus you can charge people for the services while paying your extras a relatively low salary and have an extra revenue stream.

I actually like going to the dentist. My dentist is quite good actually and I don't feel any pain at all ;) He keeps my teeth looking good, and i am obsessed with teeth looking good and feeling good - so, this keeps me happy :D

I am busy as hell and don't have time to go to the Spa . I am sitting for 45 minutes while the hygienist cleans my teeth so why not get my nails done? It’s great time management.
I would love that and suggested it to the hygienist.

By the way, statistics show that Dentists have the highest suicide rate or all professionals. Is this true? Is it because of the stinky breath or the crazy people you talked about the other day?

this is my first time writting a reply, but i thought the topic is intresting specially its comming from a dental student. if you belive that dental care is associate with pain and discomfort as a student, how will you provide pain free oral health to your patients when you finish. about having facials and foot massges and these things done to patients while they are havin oral health care provided by the dental team ( dentistry is not only drilling teeth as many belive) is a way to reduce and provide a relaxing enviroment for that patient.
many patients require sedation and General Anesthesia to have thier dental needs met.

im not associating my proffession with pain, im pretty good at what i do if i say so myself
i understand the psycology behind it and the need to have ur patients calm, confedent and comfertable
running a spa is not part of it
you need a massage book an appointment at spa time
you need something to do with the degree im killing myself to get then ill be more than happy
although i do see where your comming from, and why that whole project was developed, as just happen to disagree :)

first good luck with school, but your approach to dentsitry is wrong, if you are still finishing up your dental school requiremtns and you have that attitude to patients and your self, how are you going to provide excelent oral health care to your patients after you finish.
the dental spa idea is great since many people even dentists associate dentistry to pain and discomfort, and this SPA thins is a way to create a relaxing enviroment to the patients. and if you think that oral dealth is just fixing teeth you need to change your dental school becasue i don;t know what they teach you there.
i know you ur under stress and you need to finish ur boards and ur requirements but never ever make bad comments about your own field and never call your self " damned dentist " since i'm sure your not
