BLOODY HELL [english accent]

Have u guys been to the marina waves on a Thursday night?

its a scene out of the fast and the furious!

except replace the sexy women with 12 year old girls

and replace the macho gangsta look with 14 year old boys trying to look cool with cigarettes in their hands.

Fights breaking out everywhere, little kids running around with unidentifiable objects trying to beat each other up

the 14 year old wana be gangstas have the trunks of their cars open with music blaring, you can see the driver sitting 10 feet away

little girls grinding with the dude from the hood

i could not believe my eyes

11 pm and a bunch of adolescences turning the place into a zoo

My Friend H said shes gna go call the security guard to deal with these juvenile delinquents and break up the fights

this is how it went

H: excuse me, don't you see these kids fighting

Security guard: yes

H: why arnt you doing anything about it

S.G: let me ask you this, are they using chairs from the coffee shop?

H: No ?

S.G: did they break plates, glasses , or even ash trays

H: No

S.G: did they break any trees

H: what are you trying to get at here! call the cops!

S.G: the cops got tired o us calling them to break up fights, so we have strict instructions not to call them unless private property is damaged

H: are you kidding me!

S.G: No miss, they said even if they take out knifes and start stabbing each other we are not to call them unless an ash tray is broken

This is preposterous!

First id like to direct my words at the parents o these juvenile delinquents!

Why in the name of everything good on this earth are little boys and girls out till 11pm at night unsupervised!

SHAME ON YOU

you bring kids into this world take responsibility god damn it!

Don't leave them running around like hooligans!

smoking cigarettes and girls who barely hit puberty dressed like sluts grinding with god knows who!

As for the cops, where do i even start, you lazy good for nothing waste of a profession. You do nothing, you sit around smoking and drinking tea, that is if you decide to show up for work. I don't blame the security guard for not getting involved, cause the kids will probably shred him to pieces!

Why arnt those kids in bed ? why are they not involved in something productive, and what are those parents thinking leaving their kids like that.

If you are one of those parents please answer me, explain to me how your brain works.

I wanted to post pictures, but the blue tooth on my laptop is not working, whenever i get it fixed ill post the fast and the furious Kuwaiti version.

July 20, 2007 at 7:07 AM

where the hell are the parents...talagenhum al father msafer...and the mother is shopping in dubai!!!

unfortunately...some parents think that feeding and dressing their children and providing them with everything and ANYTHING they ask for is all it takes to be a parent <---A far as I know many parents in kuwait think like that

as for the police....r you serious????

then what the hell are they for??

what did they train for...what are they getting paid for??? and are these instructions from teh police men themselves or from higher officials???

in the end...whether its the parents fault, the police, the society or the kids for being "rebelious" its sooo sad to see such situations...especially fi le kuwait

ya rabi wallah hearing about such things makes me think twice about moving back!

blame the parents for a generation of kids brought up by maids.

the security guard clearly cant beheld responsible, and the fact that theyd rip him to shreds is symptomatic of the problem.

and cops arent babysitters, so technically theyre right, unless someone gets assaulted, something gets broken etc,... their only cause would be to stop and illegal gathering, not likely when its kuwaiti kids,..... (but when its foreign workers demanding their pay theyre on the frontline with batons.)

on the otherhand, where else would you have the kids go? theres fuck all to do here so theyre bound to do what they do. i'm just surprised theyre somewhere so public and not in the middle of the desert.

actually because its so public, i'm more inclined to believe that these are the half decent kids, compared to the ones that may be out int he desert getting high.

now thats pretty worrying.

Its just really sad that these parents are so irresponsible, and as you said the cops are worthless since they don't even try to break things up.

I remember when they had cops stationed at Sharq mall because of the problems they were having and then it died down.

There are two laws I would like them to change! They should implement a curfew law for kids under the age of 14 by 10:00pm if they are by themselves, and second is that they should allow kids above the age of 12 to be able to work at certain places with the right forms filled. It will teach them responsibility and be able to work.

What is sad are these parents who just leave their kids since they have so many kids. In Kuwait they have the mentality the more the better so they try to have 6 - 10 kids, and the government supports that. Then they just neglect most of them which leads to them walking around the streets as you see.

One time one those kids on a Friday morning was smoking a cigarette in the afternoon while we were sitting at Johnny Rockets at Marina Mall then he had a seizure attack and fell to the floor with nobody around. I remember calling 777, and then taking his phone calling the list of people on his phone until I reached a family member. It turned out the kid was 13, I just couldn't believe it. I don't think he even eats, and then we took him to the hospital in the end. His family was just sad they didn't even know how to react.

This type of thing really pisses me off, they have to change the mentality of the Kuwaiti families and have them take responsibility instead of being encouraged to get children as if they are laying eggs!

Sorry for the long post, this subject drives me nuts!

Secondly I don't go to malls on the weekend after 7:00pm. The weirdos come out then!

July 20, 2007 at 11:30 AM

unfortunately you're right

July 20, 2007 at 11:36 AM

thats just insane !

July 20, 2007 at 12:27 PM

omg don't even get me started on those kids:/ it's why i prefer to stay at home on weekends and go out on dawam days.

July 20, 2007 at 12:35 PM

July 20, 2007 at 4:26 PM

I really liked how you made the analogy of those teenagers to the fast and furious gangs :)

I never went to marina waves, hell I didn't even knew it existed until I read your post. But I saw something similar in Marina mall. That mall is damn full of teenage boys and girls!! all dressed up looking for love or whatever version of it they have.

July 20, 2007 at 4:30 PM

See i keep on saying people should stop giving birth. no one listens.

i've seen it. it will no timprove in the coming years.

July 20, 2007 at 9:31 PM

Half the time the parents ma yadrooon 3an i3yalhum!
I remember a while back my friends and I were out, and we got harrassed by 10 year old boys. We got stuff thrown at us. It was NOT a fun experience. Shino hal shi6ana il zayda?
Bas I dont think we could ALWAYS blame it on the parents, liana most of the time the parents are amazing bas peer pressure changes the kid (9irt Dr.Phil :P)

July 20, 2007 at 11:31 PM

I'd never want to be caught DEAD in Marina Mall/Crescent/Waves on weekends. I never go there on weekends, not even in the morning.

Bas el shar-ha mo 3laihum, el shar-ha 3la ahalhum elly em5aleenhum chithy. :/

July 20, 2007 at 11:47 PM

Oh my God! This is terrible. O I believe enna things like these happen in Kuwait. Kil wa7id not doing his job right... Parents, police officers, etc. It's just frustrating wallah!

Allah yahdeenna!

July 21, 2007 at 12:11 AM

Are you kidding me those kids your talking about probably knows better than both of us put together !! I don’t like this at all , and I have no idea how is it possible for a real mother or even a father to let their kids out alone till that hour ! I mean its late , its not safe , those kids should be escorted they shouldn’t be all alone .. there is drugs , rapes , crimes , everything out side .. its different now its scary world .. I think we should blame their parents before blaming them …

July 21, 2007 at 4:29 AM

oh come ooon. Why you gotta be so negative?

Maybe they are having an arabic version of the show "yo momma" but the difference is that things just got out of control. :P

July 21, 2007 at 7:37 AM

This is the end of time

July 21, 2007 at 9:10 AM

Akeed they will do what they're doing now because of how everyone else reacts. These kids don't know better, and the fact that everyone is "let them be" is a shameful and disgraceful act.

These kids need guidance, and they need something real, cause every other source of guidance being thrown at them is fake! These kids have energy, they have brains and minds that are much better than most of the society!

It would be wrong to blame those kids! It would be wrong to let them be.. someone needs to step up and be their guide, leader, coach, teacher.

July 21, 2007 at 12:26 PM

welcome to the "lil" ghetto of kuwait...

gurl you didnt see nothing yet...marina waves is the worst place i ever seen...every guy with his dog chenna g3ed in the ghetto...every gurl that passes by has to be harassed...ya3ny come on..

July 21, 2007 at 1:27 PM

ThATs rEaLlY BaD!

July 21, 2007 at 2:39 PM

calm down!! its no use of putting your blood pressure high for a generation that has never changed in all these years do you think we will change now. I don't know when will we realise that our generations needs treatment under good hands or from what I can see we will have gangsta in every street of our country.

July 21, 2007 at 4:37 PM

Welcome to my world.... Summer holidays are here...keep away from marina [and Avenues] during evenings

July 21, 2007 at 4:47 PM

yeah i saw that place went to it bel ghala6 cuz i wanted to park my car and get in with my friend. I was like O_O . I blame it on the parents.

And our cops are useless.

And I don't blame the security guard one bit.

July 21, 2007 at 10:14 PM

Disgrace!! Thats all I can say!

why have kids if u cant even take the time to raise them properly and teach them respect for themselves and others. Its just so sad to think that they are out so late and alone- arent parents worried??? I get worried if Hassoon scrambles a couple of meters away from me in the co op!!
What is with these ppl??????

Kuwait has changed for the worst and all I can tell u is that i fear for my kids and my grandkids, cuz this is just guna get worse......

And policemen- CMON!!!!!!!! What r u talking abt????? They dont know what their job is........most of them really have no clue. Its not about helping your community- its abt chasing girls, and money!!! Thats it!!

Its just so SAD .....

July 21, 2007 at 10:56 PM

The S.G's reaction seriously shocked me o_O!!!!

what if someone gets hurt? !!!
Regardless of how naughty the kids were, still people's lives are irreplacable!

July 22, 2007 at 3:47 AM

I call them the Electrifides with their over-gelled hair and their wanna-be-badass dress code.

These kids are just spoiled. They get everything they ask for, the closest thing they had experienced for a family is their short term involvement with their maids, the educational system is not helping either, and nowadays with social rules contradictory of the times all things would inevitably spin out of control.

Blaming the parents won't get anyone anywhere simply because most of them don't even know how many kids they have, what their names are and what grade are they in school.

Sad! Actually, scary to think that this is the generation that will rule the future :S

July 22, 2007 at 11:41 AM

Now that I've thought about it again... :s I really cannot imagine what the future will be with these kinda people.

the UK just implimented a law
kids under the age of 16 cannot be out after 10 without an adult over the age of 21

i hope kuwait would follow their lead.

its not just the ability to work
what i cannot understand is why just because its summer vacation it means no guidlines no activites. they let their kids run wild, nothing useful of mind stimulating

we as a society have failed to set these kind of guidlines', to help direct parents who aboviously cannot make the right desisions for their kids

1) its not a word bes 3adi make-up words are better than real ones :P

2) i dont remember all i wrote bes i was talkin about back in the day when i still used to go to marina mall before i boycotted it one thing that used to strike me as strange was the amount of 10 yr old kids that are walkin around unsupervised late at night like all the shops would be closed winkon bes ga3deen in7os about to leave and the place is still crawling with them and thinkin back to when i was that age my parents wouldnt even let me and my sisters go to school without a maid around! Athakar ya3ni they wouldnt even let us go out with just the driver la2 lazim 5adama ba3ad o these kids at like 10 ray7een isalmya ib taxi yitmashoon 3ala ra7at-hum o yirji3oon ibtaxi wala kana their kids! So should we suprised that a few years down the line these 10 yr olds are 14 and are acting like this? Its as if their parents dont give a shit, i mean how can they say they do if their KIDS are out that late! a7is 7aram they didnt have a chance to experience childhood 3ala 6ool tryin to act like teenagers.

So to the cops yea theyr lazy, yea they SHOULD be breaking up the fights and all bes if it really is happening as much as they say its happening a7is the cops are thinking if theyr parents dont give a shit then why should we? im not saying thats a good excuse i think the lot of them should be locked up thrown in jail for a week only such a thing would make the parents do something about it and scare some sense into these kids but then again whos gona throw a pre-teen in jail for a week ? A7is the cops hands are a bit forced in this matter they knw all theyr gona do is break up the fight take some guys in only for them to be released in a couple of hours to do the same thing again.

We have too many parents who think they can get away without raising their kids, maybe we need stricter rules with social workers in such so that the next time a kid does such a thing the family is visited in what not sorta like we see in the movies :p i dunno how it works in kuwait bes i gotta feeling that even if we do put such a system ppl will use wa96a to get round it leading to these ppl doin what the cops do and that is nothing.

lol i bet ur regretting asking for the post :P

July 24, 2007 at 12:10 AM

Yes, this is generation next that Pepsi started so many years back. Now, thanks to the fact that everything is out in the open, from sex to drugs to alcohol, and the teenager yearning to belong to a group, this is how youth turns out to be.

What's scarier is that our kids will grow up in today's kids' adult world. Talk about a post-apocalyptic life.
